A fence just like any other home improvement is an investment. Our four most popular styles are the best value depending on your budget. Budget-friendly material choices are chain link or split/post & rail. We have maintenance free, composite, and mixed material options as well. You can use our virtual estimator to get an idea of cost without obligation.
Most likely you will need at least a building permit if not a zoning permit. Some rural areas may be exempt. We can help to secure your permit.
Property lines are best verified prior to fence installation. If you have a survey or plot plan, we may be able to assist in identifying the lines. Ultimately, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to identify the property lines and approve the fence layout.
On-site estimates can be scheduled with our residential team and typically last 15 to 25 minutes depending on the footage and complexity of your project. Our sales professionals will provide consultation and assist you in the planning of the best possible project based on your specific needs.
A fence installation is like any other construction project will consist of using machinery for excavation and installation. While we will make every effort to keep it at a minimum, you can expect the yard to be compromised during the work.
- Each post area will have a layer of dirt that you may choose to plant new grass around.
- Typically, excavated dirt is placed in a defined area to be used or disposed of by the homeowner. You can opt for us to remove the excavated dirt from the job site for a fee.
- If you have plantings near or on the fence line, they will have to be removed and/or trimmed back to allow for proper installation.
- If there are trees, shrubbery, flower beds, etc. where you want the fence to go it will likely need to be cleared prior to the installation.
Most residentially zoned areas limit the fence height to 6'. You may be subject to setbacks or height restrictions if you are on a corner, a busy street, or limited by a Homeowners Association.
We will coordinate the PA One Call to locate public utilities, however, it is the homeowner's responsibility to flag/identify privately installed:
- Utility lines (gas, electric, propane etc.) running to a grill, pool, garage, hot tub, lighting etc.
- Sprinkler or irrigation lines.
- Electric / underground fencing.
- Geothermal systems.
- Septic system bed/lines.
Every job is different and there are a lot of variables that can affect the installation. We make every effort to work efficiently as possible. Weather and filed condition can cause delays. Your salesperson will advise.
