Fence Needs for Privacy

Larger homes on smaller lots, subdivisions, townhomes, or a desire for some time to yourself are all good reasons to consider a privacy fence. Privacy doesn’t necessarily mean you are “closing in” your yard, blocking people out or creating a closed in feel in your backyard. Simply put, it means you would like to have some time to devote to your family, your hobbies, or your solitude in an uninterrupted environment.

While a privacy fence can be solid, six-foot high and able to block views from the outside it can also be a “semi” private style allowing a slightly more open feel. Many of our wood and vinyl styles offer narrow spacing between pickets, have a decorative topper. Other semi-privacy styes include shadowbox, spaced horizontal privacy and more. We can even design a custom fence.

Privacy and semi privacy fence is available in a multitude of styles and materials.

  • Wood is a beautiful choice available in cedar or pressure treated. It can be left in its natural state to gray over time or painted or stained to your taste. Wood can require maintenance and may need repair or replacement over time.
  • Vinyl fence, also known as PVC fence, is a very popular choice for privacy fence. Our own Blue Mountain Vinyl brand is made from 100% virgin vinyl, made in the USA, meets rigid ASTM specification and weathers very well.
  • Chain link fence, which may surprise you, can be accessorized to create privacy with PVC privacy slats or privacy screening.
